GIBCA Extended Exhibition takes place at 3:e Våningen between September 6–October 27 and presents works of twelve artists based in West Sweden.
In 2019 GIBCA will continue its collaboration with GIBCA Extended, a project where the art scene in Västra Götaland Region joins the international biennial in showcasing interesting contemporary art projects.
Meeting Point 2018 will take place on November 26-27, around 60 artists will have the opportunity of presenting their work during brief meetings with the invited guest curators. The aim of Meeting Point is to establish contacts between artists and curators for potential future collaborations and exhibitions.
How do artistic and curatorial practices address rising nationalism? How do contemporary artists relate to terms such as ‘home’, ‘belonging’ and ‘national identity’? The tensions that have followed the nationalist and populist waves in Europe have increased the importance of analysis and critical thinking, even in the art world.
