There’s only so much a neck can carry is a woven textile work, inspired by “kanga” textiles, worn by women in East Africa. The “Kanga” can be used as political tools and as a form for conveying love messages and statements within the society. Most patterns are the result of a long standing trade between India, Middle East and Eastern Africa, and the work comments on the complex and layered relationship of West - South – East
