The metaphor of the maritime entropy has always attracted artists as a representation of the hidden dangers of sea and the disasters of capitalism and colonialism. Marion von Osten researched these historical and contemporary allegories by Romantic painters over amateur photo blogs to Marcel Broodthaers’ Voyage on the North Sea. The artist comments on the city’s wish to build its self-image without those random cadavers. Q&A is also located in various locations around the quai.
