(X)sites is an exhibition concept within the art form land art, where artists from all over the world create temporary site-specific works of art in the landscapes connected to the Kattegattleden and Sjuhäradsrundan cycle paths. This year the Sydkustleden and Uppsala County also join in! (X) stands for the unknown, “sites” stand for places. The project is characterized in its entirety by the investigation: from the artists’ work with the places, to the audience’s encounter with the art and the landscapes the works are exhibited in. (X)sites will be an art and cultural experience, open to both local residents and tourists, which also promotes sustainable and local tourism.
