Shafei Xia

NEVVEN is proud to present a solo show by Bologna based Chinese artist Shafei Xia. Playful, exuberant yet refined, the imagery in Xia’s work is reminiscent of Chinese erotic painting of the 1800s. Her colourful composition effortlessly draws visitors into the imaginary world she creates, where themes of love and desire are wittily presented. Xia graduated from the Fine Arts Academy in Bologna (2020), and has exhibited at LINSEED Projects (Shanghai, 2023), P420 (Bologna, 2022 and 2020), and The Fores Project (London, 2022) among others. This show will be Xia’s first solo show in Scandinavia, and the artist will be present for the opening reception on Thursday, September 14, 18:00–20:00.
