Sérgio Leitão, ”THE METRONOME OR BACKWARDS TRANSLATION”

THE METRONOME OR BACKWARDS TRANSLATION is a mixed-media installation developed in the context of an artist residency at Konstepidemin. It is based on both Futurist and Situationist aesthetics – some of the references for the artist’s projects, exhibited in several European art institutions. Through an articulation of various elements, directed to a place of intersection of different narratives, his works reveal, however, a broader labyrinth of connections. They reflect upon the power of unfolding objects, images and sounds, somewhere between reality and the multiple poetics of the imaginary.
