Kicki Lundgren – Los Viejos (Spanish for the Elderly)

The exhibition is about northern European pensioners who have chosen to settle in Spain in whole or in part. Inspired by social worker Anna Gavana’s book “Pensionersplaneten“, Kicki has during recurring trips photographed pensioners in Spain – to give them life and faces. It’s about getting older and also about finding a new place in life. Kicki’s intention is to depict what happens on the surface and within us as we get older, how the body – and our view of it – changes The pictures were taken during the years 2018 – 2021.

Kicki Lundgren is educated at Nordens fotoskola In 2020, she received both the Museum of Work’s Documentary Photo Award and Helsingborgs Dagblad’s Photo Prize.
