Children & Youth
GIBCA arranges special programs for children and youth! Here you are offered to create freely, participate in a school lesson or exciting autumn break activities.
Art is important for everone – not least for children and youth. In art, everyone – young and old alike – gets the opportunity to express themselves, experiment, learn something new, or just be. GIBCA’s exhibitions are filled with programmes and activities directed towards all ages: creative workshops, guided tours, story telling, a corner for fairy tales, graffiti, and activities during the autumn leave from school. Do not miss out on this!
If you have children the age of 3 and above, there is a wide range of activities – including guided workshops and own creative work. Here you will find information of the activities, whereas all specific dates and times are in the calendar.
Röda Sten Konsthall
Every Saturday, there is LördagsVerkstan (a Saturday Workshop) at Röda Sten Konsthall. Here children and adults can create together. There will be a new adventure weekly with new artistic techniques to try out. Drop in – and if you attend before noon (12 pm) you can also join our mini-tour of the exhibition.
During other open hours at Röda Sten Konsthall, you can create by yourself in MiniVerkstan (the MiniWorkshop). A story within a story… is about entering different perspectives to give a more lucid image of history. Here you can leave your own story for others to read or you can bring it home. Upptäcktsfärden (The Exploration Trip) creates an exciting entrance for the exhibition. Together with an adult you can explore, listen, count, and reflect on what you see. For more information, please ask at the reception!
3:e Våningen (3rd Floor)
At 3:e Våningen, you will find a reading corner with fairy tales relating to the themes of the biennial, suggested by Stadsbiblioteket Miini (the City Library Gothenburg Miini). Please sit down, take a break and read a book!
FOR FUN will take over Göteborgs Konsthall during two Saturdays of compelling workshops for the younger visitors from the age of 4. Based on the exhibition A story within a story… personal collections are created in the studio. Free entrance!
Every day at Göteborgs Konsthall, you can join FOR FUN=Konstjakt (Art hunt) – a playful walk through the art and the exhibition spaces. If you want to be part of the creating process, there is a FOR FUN space where an open art work is developing through-out the exhibition.
During the schools’ autumn leave, Göteborgs Konsthall offers FOR FUN=Skapa på höstlovet! (Create during the leave). Drop in for you between the age of 4-12. Open Tuesday October 27–Thursday October 29.
Ung & Skapande (Young & Creative)
Röda Sten Konsthall’s youth activities Ung & Skapande is for the ages of 12-26, and the admission is free of charge! Every weekend at 1-4 pm, we offer workshops in different techniques and artistic expressions. If you would rather create on your own, Verkstan (The Workshop) is open Saturdays and Sundays 12-5 pm.
If you are interested in an ongoing process and want to work with a longer artistic project, we have a Wednesday group. This is an open studio where you get together every Wednesday at 5.30-8 pm and work with your own projects, try out something new or just meet with others.
Are you interested in our activities? For more information, please visit rodastenkonsthall.se or contact Björn Westerlund, firstname.lastname@example.org
