Olav Westphalen’s multi-disciplinary practice sets highbrow

art on a collision course with popular culture. In the

exhibition, Westphalen presents a new series of political

cartoons that are based on a gag master, a tool devised

in the 1930s that generates thousands of unique jokes by

spinning three concentric wheels. The work combines the

tradition of political cartoons and local insight into current

political concerns.
